White Fillings

Nowdays composite white fillings are used for many purposes such as, a) substitution of old black amalgam fillings (that contain mercury), b) for the restoration of decayed teeth, c) for cosmetic purposes to restore fractured, chipped teeth, and d) for the allignment of front teeth.
Are white fillings visible?

Is placing of white fillings more complicated than the amalgam ones?
Yes the restoration of a cosmetic white filling requires more time and expertise.
Will I have any problems after a white filling procedure?
Not usually. However, some patients may develop a sensitivity to cold and hot, for a short period of time, especially in the case of really deep fillings.
